Justin Dix is an Australian filmmaker with over two decades of experience in the horror and science fiction genres. He began his career as a special effects makeup designer, contributing to major productions like Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Episode III – Revenge of the Sith . In 2001, he founded Wicked of Oz Studios, a special effects and production company that has been instrumental in numerous Australian genre films, including The Babadook, Lake Mungo, and The Loved Ones. Transitioning into writing and directing, Dix made his directorial debut with Crawlspace in 2012, followed by Blood Vessel in 2019 . His work is recognized for its practical effects and atmospheric storytelling. Beyond directing, he has served as a producer, writer, and art director, showcasing his versatility in the film industry. Dix's commitment to genre filmmaking has solidified his reputation as a creative force in Australian cinema.
