Biography
Lani Aisida is a Nigerian screenwriter and producer, often dubbed the "King of Web Series" for his influential role in shaping Nigeria's digital storytelling landscape. Born in Lagos in 1984, he initially pursued a career in accounting, earning a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. However, his passion for storytelling led him to pivot into the creative industry. Aisida's breakthrough came with the web series Plus 234 in 2015, marking the start of a prolific career. He has since written and produced several notable projects, including Oga! Pastor, Phases, Rumour Has It, and Skinny Girl in Transit (Seasons 5 and 6). His screenplay for the film Just Not Married earned a nomination for Best Screenplay at the Best of Nollywood Awards and was featured at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. Currently, Aisida serves as Head of Content Development at Ndani TV Communications, where he continues to influence the Nigerian entertainment industry. He also founded African Stories Untold, a platform dedicated to showcasing diverse African narratives through short films and other media.
