The story
Gosi travels to Ekiti for his best friend Derin’s wedding. Adamma, Gosi’s wife stays behind due to an illness but encourages Gosi to have a good time at the wedding. Gosi is driving the newlyweds back to the hotel when they are attacked by bandits posing as cattle herdsmen. Halil, the leader of the breakaway bandit group orders Anas his lieutenant, who has eyes on Derin to roundup the group as they vanish into the forest. Garba, the DSS officer in charge of the anti-kidnapping desk in Ekiti is called into the station from the hospital where his wife has just given birth to their first child.

The Herd is a beautifully made film. We don't have to wait too long before we swing into the story, which was super. It made the story slow down at some parts, though, but not enough to disconnect. The characters were super believable, a lot of them owned their roles, including Blessing (the corper) and Emeneks' roles which broke the tension a bit and served as a bit of comic relief.
