Set in 1975, the film tells the story of a soldier and a schoolteacher from opposing tribes who fall in love amid a nation still recovering from civil war and societal divisions. Their relationship is tested by tradition, family loyalties, and a society striving to heal.

Gosi travels to Ekiti for his best friend Derin’s wedding. Adamma, Gosi’s wife stays behind due to an illness but encourages Gosi to have a good time at the wedding. Gosi is driving the newlyweds back to the hotel when they are attacked by bandits posing as cattle herdsmen. Halil, the leader of the breakaway bandit group orders Anas his lieutenant, who has eyes on Derin to roundup the group as they vanish into the forest. Garba, the DSS officer in charge of the anti-kidnapping desk in Ekiti is called into the station from the hospital where his wife has just given birth to their first child.

The movie tells the story of Salma and Goni who were kidnapped by a terrorist gang. Goni was kidnapped with his friends to work for the terrorist gang as a skilled mechanic. Salma was kidnapped along with her schoolmates by the gang to satisfy their sexual urge and end the girl's education. Salma and Goni fall in love in the camp, which gave them strength to survive and escape. Goni and his friend Bulus helped the girls escape from the camp, but they came back home to hostility. Salma came back with a baby that her father wasn't happy with. This situation drove Salma away from home.
