Onyeka Onwenu

Set in 1975, the film tells the story of a soldier and a schoolteacher from opposing tribes who fall in love amid a nation still recovering from civil war and societal divisions. Their relationship is tested by tradition, family loyalties, and a society striving to heal.

Sisters Olanna and Kainene return home to Nigeria, but go their separate ways. When political events emerge due to the civil war, they put away their differences and join the fight for independence.

After her estranged father's death, Oluchi , an upcoming musician is forced to confront her true self ans past mistakes. She reconnects with her daughter through their love for music. However, the echoes from the past spring from every corner, threatening to bring them down.

‘A Land Apart’ is a story set against the backdrop of an alternate history where Nigeria never discovered oil but instead, Agriculture.
