Biography

Ibrahim Abubakar is a Nigerian actor and musician, known for his striking performance as Yakubu in the recent film The Herd. A Fulani from Gombe, he says his cultural background helped him bring authenticity to the role. Before The Herd, he appeared in films such as A Place in the Stars (2014) and Gwaska (2015). Besides acting, Ibrahim performs music under the stage name “Mafati Pulanis” (or “M. Pulanis”). His portrayal in The Herd — intense, raw, and unsettling — has drawn wide attention and sparked conversations across social media and in reviews.
