Matthew Paige Damon is an Academy Award-winning American actor, screenwriter, and producer. One of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, he rose to fame writing and starring in Good Will Hunting (1997) alongside his childhood friend Ben Affleck. He is widely known for the Jason Bourne franchise, The Martian, and The Talented Mr. Ripley. He has become a frequent collaborator with director Christopher Nolan, appearing in Interstellar (2014) and Oppenheimer (2023). In 2026, he headlines Nolan's most ambitious film to date, "The Odyssey", playing the lead role of Odysseus. For this role, Damon underwent a dramatic physical transformation, dropping to his "high school weight" of roughly 167 lbs and growing a real beard at Nolan's insistence. He also stars in the 2026 Netflix crime thriller "The Rip", reuniting with Ben Affleck.
