Max Minghella

Biography

Max Giorgio Choa Minghella is an English actor and filmmaker. He is the son of the late Academy Award-winning director Anthony Minghella (The English Patient). He first gained global recognition as Divya Narendra in David Fincher's The Social Network (2010) and later cemented his status as a TV icon playing Nick Blaine in the Hulu dystopian drama The Handmaid's Tale (2017–2025). In 2026, he is a major player in the new DC Universe. He has been cast in the horror-thriller "Clayface" (September 2026), directed by James Watkins. In a departure from his often stoic roles, he plays a Gotham City Police Detective who is romantically involved with the scientist (played by Naomi Ackie) responsible for the villain's tragic transformation. Beyond acting, Minghella is an accomplished director. Following his debut Teen Spirit (2018), his second feature film as a director, the psychological horror "Shell", saw a wide release in late 2025. He also joins the cast of HBO's finance drama "Industry" for its fourth season in 2026.
