Biography
Mikayla Joy Brown is a South African director, screenwriter, and actress based in Cape Town. She holds a degree in Drama from Stellenbosch University (2021) and an Honours in Creative Writing (2022). Her first play, Jantjies and the Pearls, won Best Text and Best Ensemble, and was staged at festivals including Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunste Fees. Currently, she co-directs Finding Optel, a whimsical detective film set in Cape Flats, co-created with her brother Jesse
