Biography

Muyiwa Adesokun is a Nigerian author, filmmaker, and storyteller whose creative journey began with poetry and evolved into cinema. His debut poetry collection, The Taxi Driver and Other Poems, explores contemporary themes and marked his entry into the literary world. Transitioning to film, he wrote and co-directed SHINA, a Nigerian crime thriller that premiered on Netflix in June 2024, achieving significant acclaim. Despite lacking formal film education, Muyiwa's passion and self-taught expertise have propelled him to success in both literature and filmmaking. He continues to craft narratives that resonate, drawing from his diverse experiences and deep appreciation for storytelling
