Nathan Engelhardt is an American supervising animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios with a long career in feature animation. Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, he studied animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design before beginning his professional journey in animated filmmaking. Engelhardt has worked on major Disney films in various animation roles, contributing to projects such as Wreck‑It Ralph, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Moana, Frozen 2 and Encanto, often in supervisory positions that shape character motion and performance. His work brings life to characters through expressive movement and contributes to the storytelling of some of the most successful animated features of recent years. Outside feature films he’s developing a short animated project inspired by his personal interests. Based in Los Angeles with his wife and children, Nathan remains active in animation education and mentorship, helping new talent understand professional animation craft.
