He began his professional acting career in 2008 with roles in "Tabasamu" and M-Net's "Changes." Mutuma gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Leo in MTV's "Shuga," a role he reprised across multiple seasons. He further showcased his versatility in the Nigerian web series "This Is It" and the Kenyan romantic comedy "Disconnect." Transitioning behind the camera, Mutuma directed and produced films like "Sincerely Daisy" and the Showmax series "Big Girl Small World."
