Gingerrr Enters Nollywood’s Top 10 Highest-Grossing Opening Weekends of All Time


The Nigerian box office just got another shake-up as Gingerrr makes a powerful debut, landing on the all-time list of Top Ten Highest-Grossing Opening Weekends in Nollywood history.


With an opening weekend gross of ₦79,154,225, Gingerrr joins an elite class of blockbusters that have dominated cinemas across the country. The film sits at No. 7 on the list, right below Ori: The Rebirth and Iyalode, both of which also made remarkable 2025 openings.


Topping the chart is Everybody Loves Jenifa with a record-breaking ₦190,368,257, followed by A Tribe Called Judah (₦114,211,657) and Omo Ghetto: The Saga (₦100,326,450).

All figures represent only the three-day opening weekend and exclude advanced screenings. As Nollywood continues to grow, these numbers show that audience excitement and local storytelling are at an all-time high.
