The third quarter of 2025 has wrapped, and the digital scoreboard is in. YouTube remains the space where Nollywood stars measure their reach beyond cinema halls, and this quarter did not disappoint. While the order at the very top hasn’t changed, there was plenty of movement further down the list — including a reshuffle that saw Bimbo Ademoye edge past two comedy giants.
Ruth Kadiri continues to reign supreme. Closing the quarter with 3.36 million subscribers, she sits a massive 1.2 million above her closest rival. It’s not just leadership — it’s dominance. Ruth's steady content strategy keeps her far ahead of the pack, and unless something seismic happens, no one is catching her soon.
Broda Shaggi remains planted in second place with 2.16 million, while Brain Jotter follows closely with 2.08 million. Both had healthy growth, but the real story here is Maurice Sam. With a leap of +300,000 subscribers, Maurice now holds 2.06 million and is knocking on Brain Jotter's door. If he keeps this pace, Q4 could see him move into the top three.
Further down, Uche Adakirikiri crossed the 1.5 million mark, Omoni Oboli added another impressive 160,000 to land at 1.43 million, and Funke Akindele grew steadily to 1.32 million. Each of them shows that Nollywood’s digital audience isn’t tied to one genre, from skits to drama to lifestyle, there’s room for everyone.
The most eye-catching shift came at the lower end of the chart. Bimbo Ademoye climbed past both AY and Sabinus, two names long considered comedy strongholds on YouTube. Now sitting at 1.17 million subscribers, Bimbo has redefined what it means to build community online. Her rise proves that authenticity and consistency can rival slapstick and spectacle.
AY and Sabinus, both at 1.14 million, now sit just behind her. It’s a close contest, but this quarter belonged to Bimbo.
The YouTube landscape for Nollywood is expanding, not shrinking. Every single star on the chart gained subscribers this quarter, showing that the appetite for homegrown digital content is still on the rise. But the shifts also underline a bigger trend: the audience isn’t only laughing with comedians anymore they’re connecting with actors who bring them closer to their craft off the big screen.
As we head into the last quarter of the year, the big question is whether Maurice Sam's explosive growth can push him into the top three, and if Bimbo can keep her spot ahead of AY and Sabinus. One thing is clear: Nollywood’s digital race is as thrilling as anything you’ll see on screen.
