The search for the next ultimate African ideal man has officially come to an end, and what a night it was! On May 2nd, the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel was transformed into a hub of high fashion, intense competition, and pure inspiration for the 17th edition of Mr. Ideal Nigeria.
This wasn't just a pageant, it was a powerful movement. This year, the organizers assembled a powerhouse lineup of guests and judges spanning Nollywood, sports, media, and reality TV. Their goal? To spot, shape, and crown a man built to win in today’s world.
The night kicked off with a moment of pure class as the amazing actor and producer Stan Nze was officially inducted into the elite list of Ideal Man Honourees. His journey in the industry serves as a blueprint for the finalists, proving that character and talent truly pave the way for longevity.
The event also reminded us of the incredible legacy of this platform. This is the same stage that launched global sensations like Emmanuel Umoh, Chuks Joseph, Boma Akpore, Yemi Cregx, Alvin Abayomi, Hermes Iyele, Danboskid, and Gedoni. Looking at the 27 finalists this year, it was clear that the next superstar was already in the room.
The task of choosing the winner fell to an expert panel of judges:
1. Anthonia Ahanor (Coach Naya): International pageant consultant with over 15 years of experience.
2. Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (KieKie): Award-winning content creator and TV host.
3. Nehita Ofure Irieme: Filmmaker, actress, and the reigning Miss Ideal Nigeria 24/25.
Before the main crown was decided, several men stood out for their exceptional skills:
1. Victor Eko (Edo): Swept the floor winning Mr. Strength, Best Talent, and Best Body.
2. Summer (Shuaib Oluwatoyosi Shuaib - Oyo): A business mastermind! He won the Business Icon award, the Style Task, and the PartyJollof Africa Hive task.
3. David (Ogbodo David Chinemerem - Abuja): A true fashion force. He won Top Model, Best Sashing Outfit, and Perfect Picture, earning himself a spot at Swansea Fashion Week.
4. Fifunmi (Oluwafifunmi Ifunmi Fasugba - Osun): Proved he has the gift of gab by winning Mr. Popularity and Best in Public Speaking.
5. Emery (Emery Ogolo - Anambra): Made sure all eyes were on him from the start, winning Best Arrival.
As the night progressed, the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife. The competition narrowed from the Top 13 down to a Final Six that represented the best of the best: Abia, Edo, Abuja, Ogun, Anambra, and Lagos.
Regional titles were also celebrated, crowning the kings of the four corners of Nigeria:
1. North: Kenneth (Amu Kenneth - Plateau)
2. East: Paul (Ugochukwu Paul Adimike - Abia)
3. West: Mohzeez (Moh Zeez - Lagos)
4. South: (Nsikak Abasi - Akwa Ibom)
Finally, it came down to the Top 3: Edo, Abuja, and Ogun. The room went silent as the final results were announced.
