Alexandre Singh (born 1980 in Bordeaux, France) is a visual artist and filmmaker whose work spans installation, performance, sculpture, writing and film. His art has been shown in major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Centre national des arts plastiques in Paris, and he won the Prix Meurice for Contemporary Art in 2012. Singh’s practice often draws on popular culture, classical drama and absurdist elements to explore human nature. He has directed gallery‑based projects and theatrical pieces such as The Humans and his 2019 short film The Appointment. In 2024 he co‑wrote and co‑directed the French‑language short Two People Exchanging Saliva, which was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the 2026 Academy Awards and has screened at festivals including Telluride and AFI Fest. He lives and works between Paris and New York.
