Natalie Musteata is a Romanian-American curator, writer and filmmaker with a doctorate in art history and a film certificate from The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She has taught courses in art and film history at institutions like The New School and curated exhibitions that explore contemporary art and politics. Musteata’s work spans critical writing, conference presentations and exhibition organization at venues including Centre Georges Pompidou and the New Museum in New York. Alongside artist Alexandre Singh, she co-directed and co-wrote the short film Two People Exchanging Saliva (2024), a dystopian drama that was nominated for Best Live Action Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards. The film has also shown at international festivals and won audience-based awards. Her practice bridges visual art, film and scholarship, blending conceptual depth with narrative storytelling.
