Nicolas Bouchaud

Biography

Nicolas Bouchaud is a seasoned French stage and screen actor with a career dating back to 1991. He comes from a theatrical family, the son of director Jean Bouchaud and actor Danièle Girard, and trained at Studio 34 before joining the ensemble of noted directors like Didier-Georges Gabily. Bouchaud became a central figure in contemporary French public theatre, performing classic and modern works under directors such as Jean-François Sivadier in productions of Le Roi Lear, La Vie de Galilée and Le Mariage de Figaro. He’s also directed and co-adapted stage pieces and continues to appear at major festivals including Avignon and Festival d’Automne. On screen, Bouchaud has appeared in films such as Dans la cour, Doubles vies and the 2024 short Deux personnes échangeant de la salive (as Chagrin). He has won critical acclaim and industry awards for his work in French theatre.
