Biography
Bambadjan Bamba is an American‑Ivorian actor, filmmaker, and activist. At age 10, he emigrated to the U.S., growing up in the Bronx and Richmond, Virginia. He trained at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and co‑founded the Off‑Broadway Sacred. On screen, Bamba’s career spans over 60 credits. He’s best known for his recurring role as “Bambadjan” on NBC’s The Good Place and playing a militant leader in Marvel’s Black Panther. He also had minor roles in Suicide Squad, Grey’s Anatomy, The Sopranos, Contagion, and Beginners. His recent work includes producer‑actor credits in the 2022 thriller The Unsettling and a guest arc on Bosch. Off set, Bamba is a vocal advocate for immigrant rights. In 2017 he publicly revealed his DACA status and has since worked with Define American and received awards from the ACLU and NILC. As the founder of Ivostar Pictures and through his activism and film work, he stands out as a powerful voice in contemporary cinema.
