Biography
Didier Nassegande (also credited as Didier Sèdoha Nassègandé) is a Beninese actor, storyteller, director, and theater educator. Hailing from the Fon region of Benin, he blends traditional West African oral storytelling with contemporary stage and screen performance. His early career included touring national schools, public venues, and festivals across Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire, where he led productions like “BARA” and “Paroles et Musiques des Lacs.” As a theater director, he’s created and staged original works such as “Goho”, “Cri de Cœur”, and “Les Pondeuses de Boucs,” taking them across the region and beyond. On screen, Nassegande is best known for his roles in feature films like Quand les fleurs se battent (2016) and Suru (2019), and the recent drama L’Argile (2023). He has also performed in African short films and television projects, and in 2025 was selected to represent Benin at the prestigious Festival d’Avignon, marking a milestone in his international trajectory. A committed mentor and instructor, Didier leads workshops in storytelling and performing arts while actively nurturing emerging talent.
