Biography
Brian Ghettuba is a Kenyan-born filmmaker and writer based in Edmonton, Canada. His journey into the creative arts began in Nairobi, where he developed a passion for storytelling and filmmaking at a young age. After relocating to Canada in 2002, Brian honed his skills in videography and directing, producing several mini-documentaries and music videos. His directorial debut, the short film Normal People (2013), marked the beginning of his filmmaking career. He went on to create the BOOKED trilogy (2014–2016), Wingwoman For Hire (2016), and the award-winning short film ESCA (2020). In 2021, Brian served as the Head Writer and Development Consultant for Disconnect: The Wedding Planner (2023), a Netflix series that achieved Top 10 status in its premiere week. Influenced by filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino and Guillermo Del Toro, Brian's work explores complex human emotions and societal themes. Outside of filmmaking, he enjoys music production, DJing, Kizomba dancing, and is an avid Edmonton Oilers fan. He currently resides in Edmonton, Canada.
