Charles Wattara is a celebrated Burkinabé actor, storyteller, and theatre director known for his profound contribution to African stage and film. He graduated in Modern Literature and then trained in dramatic arts, studying under prominent theatre practitioners in France. On stage, he has performed in major works by Genet, Shakespeare, Ibsen, and Soyinka, while also directing plays and crafting his own pieces like Wango and Yelbiwaoga. In cinema, he’s featured in the film Duga, les charognards, which premiered at FESPACO. Wattara’s impact extends beyond performance: he is a mentor and committed educator in the dramatic arts.
