Biography
Chibuike Marvellous Egbo is a young Nigerian actor best known for his standout role in the critically acclaimed drama My Father’s Shadow (2025). In the film, he shares the screen with his real-life brother, Godwin Chiemerie Egbo, as they journey through bustling Lagos alongside their estranged father during Nigeria’s pivotal 1993 election. Their emotionally charged performances were praised for their naturalism and depth, anchoring a story rich in memory, politics, and family tension. Directed by Akinola Davies Jr. in his feature debut, My Father’s Shadow made history as the first Nigerian film to be selected for Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section in May 2025. It went on to earn a Special Mention for the Caméra d’Or. Egbo’s contribution to the film helped craft a poignant narrative—one that blends personal intimacy with broader national reflection.
