Chris McKenna is an acclaimed American screenwriter and producer, best known for being one of the primary architects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man franchise. He began his career in television, writing for American Dad! (where he met his longtime writing partner, Erik Sommers) and the cult classic sitcom "Community". He is credited with writing some of Community's most celebrated episodes, including the Emmy-nominated "Remedial Chaos Theory" (which introduced the "Darkest Timeline"). In 2026, he returns to the Marvel universe as the co-screenwriter of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (July 2026). Alongside Erik Sommers, he has written the script for this fourth installment, which reportedly shifts Peter Parker back to a "street-level" hero story in New York City following the multiverse events of No Way Home. This marks his fourth consecutive Spider-Man film, a rare feat in modern franchise filmmaking.
