Doyinsola Ajayi is a Nigerian filmmaker who has rapidly emerged as a significant voice in African cinema. A graduate of the prestigious EbonyLife Creative Academy, she transitioned into filmmaking after a career in brand marketing and journalism (including a stint as an intern at the BBC). She gained international attention with her short film Angel in the Stone (2026), which was shortlisted for the 2025 Sony Future Filmmaker Awards in the Student category. The film, which tells the story of an autistic teenager in a rural village, was the only Nigerian entry to make the global shortlist that year. Known for her ability to handle sensitive subjects and cross-cultural narratives, she also directed Where Tides Meet, a unique project featuring an all-Indian cast, which premiered at the Mississauga Fringe Festival in Canada
