Joseph Oluwaseun Onyeanu is a Nigerian screenwriter and writer who gained international recognition early in his career. A sophisticated storyteller, he is an alumnus of the EbonyLife Creative Academy (ELCA), where he honed his craft in screenwriting. His breakout moment came with the short film Angel in the Stone (2026), for which he wrote the screenplay. The film garnered significant critical acclaim, most notably being shortlisted for the prestigious 2025 Sony Future Filmmaker Awards in the Student category. It was the only Nigerian entry to achieve this distinction that year. Onyeanu's writing is known for its social consciousness and cultural depth. Beyond narrative fiction, he is also an articulate cultural commentator, having written insightful analyses on indigenous Nigerian art forms, including the philosophy of Fuji music legend Saheed Osupa.
