Fred Amata is a distinguished Nigerian actor, director, and producer renowned for his significant contributions to Nollywood. Fred is part of a legacy of filmmakers, with his father, John Ifoghale Amata, being a pioneer in Nigerian cinema. He graduated in Theatre Arts from the University of Jos and gained prominence in 1986 with the film Legacy. Over the years, Fred has directed and starred in numerous films, including The Amazing Grace and Letters to a Stranger. From 2016 to 2021, he served as the President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN). In 2019, he was honored with the chieftaincy title "Okugbe" in Oleh Kingdom, Delta State, recognizing his role in fostering unity.
