Guy James Murray-Bruce is a Nigerian media executive and entertainment mogul who currently serves as the President of Silverbird Group. A key architect of the Nigerian entertainment landscape, he has spent decades managing the group’s vast interests in cinema exhibition, radio (Rhythm FM), television (STV), and pageantry. He is the younger brother of Silverbird founder Ben Murray-Bruce. In 2026, Murray-Bruce is a central figure in one of the year's most significant film business deals. He serves as an Executive Producer for the film adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s "The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives", scheduled for a wide theatrical release in December 2026. He was instrumental in forming the historic "quadripartite" partnership between Silverbird, EbonyLife (Mo Abudu), Genesis Group, and Nile Media, which aims to give the film the widest release in West African history. In press statements, he highlighted the project as a vehicle to "elevate African storytelling" to a global audience. Beyond cinema, Murray-Bruce is renowned for revolutionizing the Nigerian beauty industry. Since 1993, he has directed the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant, notably overseeing the era that produced Agbani Darego, the first Black African Miss World, in 2001. He continues to manage the Miss Universe Nigeria franchise, maintaining its status as a premier cultural event. He holds a degree in Business Administration from California State University (1985) and has previously served as the Special Adviser on Entertainment and Tourism to the Governor of Bayelsa State.
