Biography
James Amuta is a Nigerian filmmaker, writer, and aerial cinematographer known for his compelling storytelling and visual style. He gained recognition with his documentary Nightfall in Lagos, which was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards. Amuta produced the Netflix Original Òlòtūré, a film that delves into human trafficking, and co-produced Your Excellency, a political satire. He wrote and produced Collision Course, addressing police brutality, which won Best Movie West Africa at the 2022 AMVCA and received accolades at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. Amuta also co-produced Elesin Oba: The King's Horseman, a Netflix adaptation of Wole Soyinka's play.
