Julia Vernon is a British make‑up artist with a strong career in film, known for her work in the make‑up and hair department on major productions. She gained widespread recognition when she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for Cruella (2021), sharing the nomination with colleagues for their contribution to the film’s visual style. Vernon has built a substantial body of credits over the years, working as a makeup and hair supervisor on films such as Les Misérables (2012), Napoleon (2023) and Hamnet (2025), often focused on crowd and supporting make‑up roles that help bring large cast scenes to life. She also founded WIGWOMAN Ltd, a company specialising in wigs, hair and makeup for screen work, and continues to be active in the UK film industry.
