Biography
Kenji Gathecha is a Kenyan filmmaker and founder of Cool Kids Studios. He has directed acclaimed TV series such as Sue na Jonnie, Hullabaloo Estate, and Ma’Empress, the latter addressing women's experiences and social issues like femicide. Gathecha's short film The Whistle Blower won Best Short Film at the 2019 Kalasha Awards. His 2025 feature film Love and Coffee explores romance and class struggles within Kenya's coffee industry. Initially a business major, Gathecha discovered his passion for film in university and has since become a prominent director in Kenya's entertainment industry.
