Philip Karanja, also known as Phil Director, is a Kenyan filmmaker, actor, and CEO of Phil-It Productions. He began his career portraying Melvin in the TV series Tahidi High, later transitioning into directing and producing. Karanja co-founded Phil-It Productions, which has produced popular shows like Mother-In-Law, Hapa Kule News, Real Househelps of Kawangware, Hullabaloo Estate, and Sue na Jonnie. His 2022 film Click Click Bang became the first Kenyan film acquired by Netflix, marking a significant milestone in his career. Karanja studied Film and TV at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
