Biography
Kristen Wiig is an American actress, comedian, screenwriter, and producer, born on August 22, 1973, in Canandaigua, New York. She gained prominence through her seven-season tenure on NBC's Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2012, earning four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Wiig co-wrote and starred in the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids, which was both a critical and commercial success, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Her filmography includes roles in The Skeleton Twins, The Martian, Ghostbusters (2016), and Wonder Woman 1984. In 2024, she was inducted into SNL's Five-Timers Club after hosting the show for the fifth time. Wiig has also ventured into music, co-writing and performing the song "Harper And Will Go West" for the documentary Will & Harper, which is a contender for the 2025 Academy Award for Best Original Song. She resides in Pasadena, California, with her husband, actor Avi Rothman, and their twin children.
