His pseudonym, 'AMA Psalmist,' combines his initials, Akinrogunde Michael Akinkunle, with 'Psalmist,' reflecting his musical background. Initially trained as a mechanical engineer, Michael transitioned into filmmaking, bringing a unique perspective to Nollywood. He gained recognition after winning the 2017 Accelerate TV Filmmaker Project, leading to the production of his acclaimed short film, Penance.
