Monalisa Chinda, born on September 13, 1974, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, is a renowned Nigerian actress, film producer, talk show host, and media personality. She is the firstborn in a family of six children. Monalisa pursued her education in Theatre Arts at the University of Port Harcourt, which laid the foundation for her acting career. Her acting debut came in 1996 with the film Pregnant Virgin. She gained prominence with her role in the television soap Heaven’s Gate in 2007. In 2011, she ventured into film production with Kiss & Tell, co-produced with Emem Isong and directed by Desmond Elliot. Monalisa has since featured in over 80 films, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the Nigerian film industry. Beyond acting, Monalisa is the host of the talk show You & I with Monalisa, where she addresses various societal issues. She is also a columnist for The Sun Newspapers, writing on social issues and relationships. Her humanitarian efforts are channeled through the Arise Monalisa Foundation, focusing on empowering women and children. In her personal life, Monalisa was previously married to Dejo Richards, with whom she has a daughter, Tamar Lily Chinda. In 2016, she married Victor Tonye Coker.
