Rapulana Seiphemo

Biography

Rapulana Seiphemo is one of South Africa's most recognizable and respected actors. Born in Meadowlands, Soweto, he began his career in 1989 with a role in Athol Fugard's My Children! My Africa!. He furthered his studies in Theatre Arts in the United States at Texas A&M University before returning to South Africa to become a dominant force in the industry. He achieved legendary status with his long-running portrayal of Tau Mogale in the soap opera Generations. His career has seamlessly bridged television and film, with significant roles in the Academy Award-winning Tsotsi and the crime drama Jerusalema (also known as Gangster's Paradise: Jerusalema). In 2020, he made a high-profile move to the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen, playing the corrupt police colonel Hector Sebata. He also co-founded Stepping Stone Pictures with fellow actor Kenneth Nkosi, producing films like Paradise Stop.
