Biography
Salvatore Esposito is an Italian actor best known for his breakout role as Gennaro “Genny” Savastano in Gomorrah (2014–2021). He trained in theater at Beatrice Bracco Academy and later at the Naples School of Cinema before debuting in Italian TV and short films in 2011–2012. Gomorrah made him a household name in Italy and introduced his intense performance style to global viewers . In 2020, he took his craft international with a powerful turn as mob boss Gaetano Fadda in season 4 of Fargo, earning praise for his clinical presence and dramatic depth. On the big screen, Esposito has appeared in a range of Italian films, from genre hits like They Call Me Jeeg (2015) and Taxi 5 (2018) to dramatic features such as Spaccapietre (2020). He also reprised the Genny Savastano character in The Immortal (2019) and has upcoming roles in action-thrillers like Den of Thieves 2: Pantera and Maserati: The Brothers (both 2025). Esposito also branches into writing and producing—he helped develop the concept and wrote for the mini-series Piedone – Uno sbirro a Napoli (2024). Fluent in Italian, English, and Spanish, he’s an accomplished stage-trained actor expanding his presence across European and U.S. screens.
