Biography

Waldemar Schultz is one of South Africa's most versatile and respected actors, with a career spanning over three decades in theatre, film, and television. Born in Cape Town, he studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch, where he earned a Master's degree in directing. He became a national icon in the early 2000s for his role as Jan-Hendrik Terreblanche in the popular soap opera 7de Laan. He later reinvented himself as a gritty lead in the critically acclaimed kykNET crime series Die Byl, playing the brilliant but brooding Colonel Piet van der Bijl for multiple seasons. Schultz is also a prolific stage actor and director. He has appeared in international films shot in South Africa, such as The Kissing Booth 2 and Troy: Fall of a City, and remains a prominent figure in the local industry.
