In the vibrant world of Nollywood, few rising stars possess the eclectic background and infectious energy of EyiyemiOlivia Rogbinyin. A "firecracker" in the truest sense, she is a complete spectrum of entertainment, a melodic voice behind the mic, a commanding presence on stage, and a magnetic force on screen.
With a portfolio boasting Africa Magic hits like Split, Dust, The Yard, and Close of Business, Prime Videos At Ease, as well as stage triumphs like Son of Anan, , she is quickly becoming a household name. But beyond the glitz is a woman of deep substance: a trained architect, a former makeup artist, and a devoted believer who attributes every milestone to divine timing.
We sat down with the "talent extraordinaire" to discuss her journey from the drafting table to the movie set, her organic lifestyle, and her burning desire to become Nollywood’s next big action hero. Fasten your seatbelts; the world of EyiyemiOlivia is about to unfold.
PartyJollof Africa: Take us back to the beginning. What first sparked your interest in the performing arts?
EyiyemiOlivia: To be honest, I believe God sent me back into acting for this specific season. I used to perform on stage in the early 2000s, but being in Nollywood at this point feels entirely divine. God is deeply involved in this chapter of my life.
PartyJollof Africa: We love a divine leading! Tell us about your journey growing up. Did your family support your dreams of becoming an actor?
EyiyemiOlivia: My path hasn't been linear, and my family has been supportive through it all. I actually hold a degree in Architecture and have worked in both Architecture and Interior Design, focusing on lighting and bathrooms. I’ve also modeled, worked as a makeup artist, and been a tailor. My family has stood by me through every single one of those pivots.
Party Jollof Africa: That is incredible, a true polymath! Given your diverse background, what has been your most nerve-wracking experience as an actor so far, and how did you overcome it?
EyiyemiOlivia: Surprisingly, I haven't had a "nerve-wracking" moment yet. I strive to handle every experience with grace, regardless of the pressure.
PartyJollof Africa: Is there a particular project you are especially proud of? What made it stand out to you?
EyiyemiOlivia: Fortunately, every project I’ve touched has taught me something new. The people and the creative processes make each one special in its own way. I find genuine joy in being on set, no matter the project.
PartyJollof Africa: You definitely bring the sunshine! What do you believe sets you apart from other actors, and how do you stay true to yourself in such a competitive industry?
EyiyemiOlivia: We are all made in God’s image, which means every one of us is inherently unique. I stay grounded by knowing who I am in God and understanding how much He loves me. That realization keeps me steady, both inside and outside the industry.
PartyJollof Africa: If you could portray any literary or theatrical character, who would it be?
EyiyemiOlivia: Oh, wow! It would have to be the legendary Ms. Taiwo Ajayi Lycett. She is such an amazing human being and a true icon. I admire her work and her spirit so much, she is a total gem.
PartyJollof Africa: An excellent choice! Looking at the bigger picture, how do you think Nollywood is impacting cultural narratives globally?
EyiyemiOlivia: Hmm... I’m not sure we are quite "there" yet. Nollywood is certainly making great efforts and trying its best, but in terms of global narrative impact, I believe we still have some ground to cover.
PartyJollof Africa: We’re getting there! Looking toward 2026 and beyond, what kind of roles are you hungry to explore?
EyiyemiOlivia: I am looking forward to an action-packed film! Trust me, I am ready, I’m even training for it. I’ve enjoyed the roles I’ve played so far, but I’m telling you: bring on the action! You all will see it soon; I can’t wait.
PartyJollof Africa: We are ready for those "Robin Hood" moves! How do you balance the demands of acting with self-care?
EyiyemiOlivia: My routine has been consistent for over 20 years. I walk regularly, and I’m very intentional about what I eat because I really love food! I’ve been on an organic journey for about 12 years now. I prioritize good sleep, nurture my relationships, and just live life "jeje" (gently).
PartyJollof Africa: If you could collaborate with any specific director or actor, who would be at the top of your list?
EyiyemiOlivia: Nollywood is so full of exceptional talent that it’s hard to choose just one. I honestly depend on the Holy Spirit to guide and direct those connections. I can’t pick a single person; I’ll let God lead the way.
PartyJollof Africa: What is the mantra you live by?
EyiyemiOlivia: Oluwaseun (God is good). And "Jesus Joy", nothing beats it!
PartyJollof Africa: Are there any specific filmmakers or cast members who have influenced your personal storytelling style?
EyiyemiOlivia: Life is the ultimate teacher. The more we live, the more we learn. I learn from everyone on set, the crew, the cast, even the drivers. No one is "random" on a film set; there is a lesson to be learned from every single person if you’re paying attention.
PartyJollof Africa: What advice would you give to an emerging actor looking to break into Nollywood?
EyiyemiOlivia: Know who you are in God and know your worth. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to fail. Failure is just a part of winning.
PartyJollof Africa: What projects should we be looking out for from you this year?
EyiyemiOlivia: No spoilers! You’ll just have to wait and see. As they are released, you will see them and, I hope, you will love them. Just make sure you keep watching!
Party Jollof Africa: Any final words for your fans?
EyiyemiOlivia: God is the only way. Find your core in Him, and you’ll be good.
