PartyJollof Africa: Fiyinfoluwa, it’s so good to have you! We’ve been watching your journey closely. Tell us, was it the Kids Can Act (KCA) program that officially kick-started things for you, or had you been dreaming of the big screen long before that?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: Honestly, yes! It was definitely Kids Can Act that got everything started for me.
PartyJollof Africa: That’s amazing. Now, being a kid actor sounds like a lot of work. Are you actually getting the chance to just be a kid and enjoy your childhood?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: Oh, sure! I am definitely enjoying my childhood.
PartyJollof Africa: Glad to hear that! Looking back at your work so far, which project stands out as the most challenging for you?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: That would have to be Shining Star. Yes, definitely Shining Star!
PartyJollof Africa: Challenges are what make us grow! But with all these projects, how do you manage to balance your books with your scripts? How do you handle school and acting?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I’m very thankful that I have strong support from my school in that regard. Their online portal especially helps me stay on track even when I'm working.
PartyJollof Africa: It really does take a village. Speaking of support, how have your parents been handling your journey as a young star?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I am so blessed. My parents have been and still been incredibly supportive of everything I do.
PartyJollof Africa: We can see that reflected in your work! Your performances are always so polished. Walk us through your process, how do you prepare for a new role?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I usually read my scripts three times before I even step onto the set. The first time is to understand the story, the second is to understand everyone else’s roles, and the third time is to really master my own lines.
PartyJollof Africa: That is a very professional approach! Since you're in the industry, who would you say is your biggest mentor or inspiration in Nollywood?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: There are so many! Mummy Funke Akindele is a huge one because of her skills as both a director and a producer. Also, Uncle Kunle Remi, Uncle Timini, and many others.
PartyJollof Africa: Those are some heavy hitters! What has been the most "pinch-me" or surreal moment of your career so far?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: Definitely the moment I saw Mummy Funke Akindele for the first time. I really love her!
PartyJollof Africa: We totally get it! You’ve played some great roles already, but is there a specific type of character you’re itching to play next?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I can’t wait to take on a teenage role.
PartyJollof Africa: Just a few more years! Here’s a fun one: if you had to choose between being a Superhero or a MasterChef, which one are you picking?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: MasterChef, for sure!
PartyJollof Africa: Love that! Now, if you could switch roles with any of your co-stars on a project, who would it be and why?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: Nobody. I’m happy with my roles!
PartyJollof Africa: Spoken like a true lead! Acting isn’t just about the glitz; it’s about the lessons too. What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned since you started?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: It’s taught me not to trust everyone.
PartyJollof Africa: That’s a very mature lesson to learn so early. If you could go back and recreate any scene you’ve done, which one would it be?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: The audition scene in Temi and the Labalaba Band.
PartyJollof Africa: A classic it will be! Behind every great actor is a great team. Who is your biggest cheerleader?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: It’s my mum. Always.
PartyJollof Africa: Moms are the best! What is the single best piece of advice she, or anyone else, has ever given you?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: It’s simple: "Do you."
PartyJollof Africa: Powerful words. When you aren't on set or in the classroom, what are you passionate about?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I’m really into streaming and playing basketball.
PartyJollof Africa: A star on and off the court! Where do you see yourself in five years? How do you think your acting style will evolve?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I’m sure it will be way better than it is now. I’m always learning.
PartyJollof Africa: We have no doubt! If you could collaborate with any international actor, who would be at the top of your list?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: It should be Kevin Hart. His acting is so believable and funny.
PartyJollof Africa: We can definitely see you two together! With all the fame coming your way, what is the most important value your parents have instilled in you?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: To stay humble, regardless of what happens.
PartyJollof Africa: That humility will take you far. After a long, rigorous week of school and filming, how do you finally unwind?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: I watch other streamers online and get back on the basketball court.
PartyJollof Africa: For all the talented kids out there who want to act but are confused about how to start, what’s your message to them?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: They should definitely sign up for my next monologue challenge project; it’s called ‘Act it out by Fiyin’.
PartyJollof Africa: You heard him, guys! Before we go, who are your "forever favorites" in Nollywood?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: Honestly? Everyone!
PartyJollof Africa: And finally, what message do you have for the fans who have been following your journey?
Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga: Thanks for believing in me and always supporting me. God bless you all!
And that’s a wrap! It’s clear that Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga isn't just a star because of his talent, but because of his heart and his focus. We can’t wait to see him take on the world, one scene at a time. Keep your eyes on this one, the future has arrived!
