Andrew Ayers Stanton is an American filmmaker and animator who is one of the founding creative figures at Pixar Animation Studios (he was the second animator and ninth employee hired by the studio). He is widely regarded as one of the most influential storytellers in modern animation. He made his directorial debut with "Finding Nemo" (2003) and later directed "WALL-E" (2008), both of which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. He has been a writer on every film in the Toy Story franchise and is the director and writer for the upcoming "Toy Story 5" (2026). Beyond directing, he is a prolific screenwriter (co-writing Monsters, Inc. and Toy Story) and a voice actor, famously providing the voice for Crush (the sea turtle in Finding Nemo) and Emperor Zurg (in Toy Story 2). He also directed the live-action film John Carter (2012) and episodes of Stranger Things and Better Call Saul.
