Bo Yeon Kim is a South Korean screenwriter and producer who has made history as a leading Asian female voice in Western science fiction. Her unique childhood, moving to a different country every three years, initially felt like a weakness but eventually became her greatest storytelling strength. After starting her career in the CBS Mentoring Program in 2014, she became the first Asian female writer for the Star Trek franchise. Alongside her writing partner Erika Lippoldt, she has served as an executive story editor and producer on major series like Star Trek: Discovery and Sweet Tooth. Most recently, she gained international acclaim as a writer for the 2025 Netflix hit KPop Demon Hunters.
