Jared Leto (born December 26, 1971, in Bossier City, Louisiana) is an American actor, musician and director known for his transformative performances and genre-spanning career. He first gained attention on the television series My So‑Called Life (1994–95) and later starred in films including Requiem for a Dream (2000). His acclaimed roles include Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club (2013)—for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor—and appearances in Blade Runner 2049 and House of Gucci (both 2021). He is also the lead vocalist and songwriter for the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which has sold over 15 million albums worldwide. Leto is known for his method acting, artistic versatility, and crossover impact in music and film.
