Biography
Gentle Jack, born November 20, 1970, in Rivers State, Nigeria, is a celebrated Nollywood actor known for his commanding presence and action-driven roles. He hails from Abonema in the Kalabari kingdom and had his early education in Port Harcourt before training as a body fitness professional. He made his Nollywood debut in 1997 with Blood Money and became a household name after starring as Vuga in the film Vuga (2000). The role of Vuga remains one of Nollywood’s most iconic characters, establishing him as a strong force in the industry. Over the years, he has appeared in several other films including The Ghost (2005) and Jane Rambo: Daughter of the Jungle (2018), often portraying tough, larger-than-life characters. Gentle Jack’s muscular build and on-screen energy earned him the nickname “Mr. Macho,” and he has continued to be a reference point for action roles in Nigerian cinema. With decades of experience, he is admired for his unique style, charisma, and contribution to shaping Nollywood’s action genre.
