Biography
Mosunmola Abudu, popularly known as Mo Abudu, was born on September 11, 1964, in Hammersmith, West London, to Nigerian parents from Ondo Town, Ondo State. At age seven, she moved to Nigeria to live with her grandparents in Ondo State, immersing herself in Nigerian culture. She returned to the UK at 11 after the passing of her father. Abudu pursued her education at the Ridgeway School, MidKent College, and West Kent College, eventually earning a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster. Her professional journey began in the UK as a recruitment consultant, later transitioning to a role at ExxonMobil in Nigeria as the Head of Human Resources and Training. Driven by a passion for storytelling and changing the African narrative, she ventured into media, creating and hosting Moments with Mo, Africa's first syndicated daily talk show. In 2013, she launched EbonyLife TV, a network aimed at portraying a positive image of Africa to the world. Under her leadership, EbonyLife Media has produced several high-grossing and critically acclaimed films and series, including Fifty, The Wedding Party, Chief Daddy, and Òlòtūré. Her collaborations with international studios like Netflix, Sony Pictures Television, and AMC Networks have positioned her as a significant player in global entertainment.
