Priyanga Burford

Biography

Priyanga Burford is a highly respected figure in British theatre and television, known for her sharp intelligence and ability to portray complex authority figures. She gained widespread recognition as Amina Chaudury in the BBC drama Press and as the Leader of the Opposition in the "future history" film King Charles III. In late 2025 and early 2026, Burford’s career reached a new high. Following an Olivier nomination for her performance opposite Matt Smith in An Enemy of the People, she joined the "Murphy-Mielants" creative ensemble. In the 2025/2026 film Steve, she plays Kamila, a key member of the reform school staff. As of February 2026, she is also returning to the stage, starring in the 2026 production of Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare’s Globe.
