Biography
Seth Reiss grew up in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Boston University. Early in his career he interned for comedy shows including Conan and served as a page on Late Show with David Letterman. He wrote for the sports-comedy show Cheap Seats and for outlets like McSweeney’s before joining The Onion, where he eventually became Head Writer. At The Onion he oversaw a writer staff producing satire across topics, published The Onion Book of Known Knowledge, and developed skills in blending humor with sharp cultural critique. Reiss moved into television writing and is part of the writing team for Late Night with Seth Meyers. His first feature screenplay, The Menu, released in 2022, stemmed from his experience in satirical and late-night comedy. Reiss also performs sketch comedy with the group Pangea 3000 at several comedy festivals. He now lives in New York City, where he continues to write and develop work spanning print, television, and film, always bringing a blend of wit, irony, and insight to his projects.
