Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù is a London-born actor of Nigerian heritage. After sharpening his stage chops with the National Youth Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, he quietly made his way into film in 2016 with roles in Sand Castle, Criminal, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and an episode of Black Mirror. He’s best known for playing Elliot Carter in Gangs of London, a role he’s inhabited since 2020, and for portraying the captivating lead in the period romance Mr. Malcolm’s List in 2022. His breakthrough in His House earned him a Best Actor nod at the British Independent Film Awards. Raised in Edgware, London, Dìrísù studied economics at the University of Birmingham, where he also played American football. At every turn, he brings a rare blend of athletic presence, emotional depth, and thoughtful versatility. Now in his early thirties, he continues to expand his range—whether through gritty drama, sweeping romance, or transformations both subtle and bold.
