Biography
Julia Fox is an Italian-American actress, model, artist, and writer born in Milan in 1990. Raised partly in Italy and partly in New York City, she moved to Manhattan at age six. Before acting, she explored many creative paths: she co-founded the knitwear label Franziska Fox, modeled (including a shoot for Playboy), exhibited her paintings and photographs, published self-made photography books, and even worked briefly as a dominatrix. Her breakout film role came in 2019, when she starred in Uncut Gems, earning a nomination for the Breakthrough Actor Award at the Gotham Awards. Since then she has appeared in films like No Sudden Move. In 2023 she published her memoir Down the Drain, in which she reflects on her past, creative journey, and personal life, including motherhood. Despite her unconventional rise, she has become known for her bold sense of style, confident public persona, and willingness to speak openly about her life. She continues to act, write, and engage with art in various forms while raising her son and navigating a career that's always pushing boundaries.
