Zack Akers

Biography

Zack Akers is a writer, producer and creator who grew up in Athens, Tennessee. He graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2008 with a degree in Film & Television. Early in his career he produced sports documentaries for television before shifting toward narrative and fiction audio work. He co-founded the production company Two-Up with Skip Bronkie, and together they launched Limetown, a scripted podcast that quickly became a hit on iTunes after its release in 2015. The success of Limetown led to a television adaptation starring Jessica Biel and Stanley Tucci, and spurred other Two-Up projects like 36 Questions: The Podcast Musical and The Wilderness. When not working, he spends time at home with his family and son. His work is known for strong storytelling, high production values, and compelling mysteries that blend documentary-style realism with speculative fiction elements. He continues to push the limits of audio drama and cross-platform storytelling while living in Massachusetts and building new creative ventures.
